Litchfield Council has 5 elected members: The President and one councillor from each of the 4 wards that make up the Council.

Council members are usually elected for 4 years. The next full Council election will be held on 25 October 2008. Council elections in the Northern Territory are adminstered by the Northern Territory Electoral Office (NTEO) .
